Check out TEDx in Tucson! Happens this Friday, December 3, 2010.

It is not often my readers on this blog see me recommend events for them to attend within the Tucson, AZ area!

This Friday, December 3rd, 2010 is a great opportunity for all types of innovators, entrepreneurs, and small business people to check how Tucson businesses are innovating around the “green” industries within the Southern Arizona region. Check out the TEDxTucson website !

The above event not only opens up community dialogues about creating a sustainable local economy, but allows citizens to learn about new innovative ideas and industries taking root in the Tucson metro area.

Many years ago I read a book by a man named Richard Florida . He wrote a book entitled “The Rise of the Creative Class“. His studies focus on talent migration and urban renewal. Also, he talks about how the rise of the creative class ties to success of cities within the US and how important the creative class is to the health of a city. As one of the creative class, I think this TedxTucson event offers a great starting point to introduce the idea of the creative class being important to the vitality of the Tucson region.

For more information about Richard Florida and his writings check out his website.

Again, please check out the event!

Thank you!
